Blacksmith and toolmaker Alex Pole has spent more than three decades shaping hot steel into functional, beautifully crafted tools. In this conversation, Alex talks openly about the pull of craft, the realities of the workshop and what the future holds for blacksmithing.

We had the privilege of sitting down with British artist Ed Stanford, the artist behind the hand-painted details of the Night FLY-R jacket. This jacket, which launched the much-anticipated Rogue Collection, marked a pivotal moment for both Ed and &SONS.

James Strawbridge is a chef and food photographer based in Cornwall. He produces cookbooks for a living, develops recipes and can be found foraging for wild food with his family. We collaborated with James back in the summer and he created a delicious Shakshuka recipe which was hugely popular with our pioneers. After seeing the response from everyone, we wanted to learn more about the way he lives and how he develops his own style, so we met up again to break some bread.

There’s nothing quite like cooking some delicious food and setting down to eat with your friends and family. We want to bring you some of those authentic, rustic recipes so we’ve partnered with renowned chef James Strawbridge on our very first recipe.

Founder of Deer River Craftsman in North Wales, Mark Peacock has been a furniture maker for over 20 years. His list of skills notes Joinery and Cabinetry and branches into new materials and artisan trades like Blacksmithing, Leather & Upholstery.  

Mark has been an avid fan of our workwear for over 2 years and with his extensive display of creative ability, our latest Pioneer venture had to include visiting Mark in his workshop.

As we all look ahead and plan our adventures, we wanted to share stories of our Pioneers and their expeditions and give you a glimpse of the awesome world we live in. For our first edition, we commissioned Skyrise Productions to test our clothes in the Highlands of Scotland. Its diverse landscapes possess dramatic mountains, deep forests, and moorlands, making it the perfect location. This is their adventure…  

Acceptance of self is a stage of life that everyone should pass through, but not everyone does. Some of the most “wildly successful” people I know have absolutely no clue who they are, no understanding of what they believe, and no notion of how to express themselves, and I sympathise with them because I know how long it took me to feel comfortable to be the man I am.
