Threads and Heads: Denim, Repair And Conversation
Some garments are too good to give up on.
That was the idea behind our denim repair workshop, created in collaboration with Repair My Denim, hosted at Lucky Saint London.
The evening brought together a group of Pioneers for a hands on session built around repairing, restoring and extending the life of their denim.
It was practical, relaxed and genuinely enjoyable. Everyone got stuck in, took it seriously and gave it a proper go, but there was still plenty of conversation, laughter and a few Lucky Saint beers along the way.
“The best part of the event for me was it was Great to meet the Team and some fellow pioneers. Also, attended with my son (also loved it).”
Repair, Not Replace
At &SONS, we believe the best clothes get better with time.
They soften, fade, mark and shape themselves around the person wearing them. Denim is one of the clearest examples of that. A worn knee, a frayed pocket or a split seam does not have to mean the end of a garment.
Led by Cosmin from Repair My Denim, the workshop showed how small repairs can strengthen a piece, extend its life and add to its character.
It was a reminder that repairing your clothes is not just practical. It changes the way you see them.
“I’ve got jeans at home I probably would have binned, but now I’d actually think twice and try to get them fixed... or do it myself?!”
Getting Stuck In
What made the night work was the way everyone approached it.
This was not a room full of people awkwardly watching someone else do the work. Everyone picked up the tools, asked questions, listened properly and got involved with their own repairs.
There was a real focus in the room, but it never felt too serious. People were sharing tips, comparing denim, chatting across the tables and taking pride in learning something new.
It felt like the right balance of useful and enjoyable.
“I wasn’t sure how technical it would be, but I really enjoyed having a go myself. I think I did pretty well.”
Threads and Heads
We were also joined by Clive, who runs our Threads and Heads Facebook group.
Threads and Heads is a space for men to talk, check in and support each other, with a focus on mental health, community and honest conversation.

The night was about denim, but it was also about connection. Sitting down, learning something practical and having proper conversations while doing it.
“It was nice to meet people properly rather than just talk online. Everyone was easy to chat to and it felt really welcoming.”
Our Recommended Denim Repair Service
Following the event, we are proud to announce that Repair My Denim is now our recommended denim & cotton repair service.
If your favourite jeans need some attention, Cosmin and the team can help bring them back to life, whether it is a split seam, worn knee, damaged pocket or a repair you have been putting off for too long.
This is an online repair service only, so please do not bring denim into our stores.
You can find Repair My Denim through our website to get in touch with them directly, or [CLICK HERE]
This workshop was a reminder that repair is practical, personal and worth taking the time to learn.
A huge thank you to Repair My Denim, Lucky Saint, Clive, and every Pioneer who came along and made the night what it was.
“I’d definitely use Repair My Denim after this. It’s good to know someone who actually knows what they’re doing with proper denim.”
