INTRODUCING

The Brandon Overdyed Jean is a unique take on everyday denim, offering a rich, consistent colour that will evolve with wear.

Made from a blend of recycled cotton and reused polyester from ISKO, this jean maintains a commitment to sustainability without sacrificing durability. The over-dyed finish gives these jeans a slightly snugger feel when new, but as you wear them, they will gradually mould to your body, offering all-day comfort.

What makes the overdyed fabric unique is that it retains its shape after washing, reverting back to its original form while maintaining a well-worn look. These jeans are built to withstand time and adventure, giving you a consistent fade and a softer feel with each wear. As with all our Brandon jeans, this style features the classic 5-pocket design, subtle contrast stitching, and the signature &SONS suede back patch, making them a versatile staple for any wardrobe.

This garment has been overdyed to create a rich, lived-in colour. With washing and wear, the colour will gradually fade and soften, building character over time.

We recommend washing inside out and separately for the first few washes, as some colour transfer may occur.

Due to the dyeing process, slight variation in appearance and fit can occur between colourways.

The fabric will ease with wear, washing will help bring it back into shape.

ORIGINS

The drainpipe jean has reached cult status over the years, gaining popularity with rockers in the ’60s and punks in the ’70s. Its origins trace back to the 17th century when men’s breeches, the aristocratic predecessor of the drainpipe jeans, were favoured among French royalty. Like many fashion trends, this style spread to other parts of Europe, including the UK.

In the 1800s, these trousers resurfaced as a mark of rebellion during the French Revolution, evolving into what was known as ‘pantaloon.’ Fast forward to the 1950s, when slim jeans emerged during the Beatnik era, favoured by many style icons of the time for their fitted look.

Throughout the ’70s and ’80s, the drainpipe jeans remained relatively simple, which set the stage for personalization during the punk era. Rips, holes, safety pins, and patches became emblematic of punk culture, with bands like The Ramones and The Cult embodying the denim dress code in nearly every album cover and photoshoot.

Today, the drainpipe jean stands as a counterculture wardrobe essential, offering a fitted cut that allows for freedom of movement and a diverse range of styles to choose from.
