timeless style and mountain-worthy performance
Introducing the &SONS Takin Fleece, a rugged piece from our Mountain Range, designed with a nod to the fearless climbers of the 70s.
Crafted from borg fleece, the jacket features a bonded double-layer construction with an internal microfibre fleece, ensuring warmth and comfort in the harshest conditions. We'd added thoughtful details like the recycled plastic buttons and a para-cord loop on the lower patch pockets.
The Takin Fleece is equipped with both style and function, with a canvas trim fabric, a 1x1 rib binding, and a sleeve pocket to enhance its durability and mountain-ready feel. The inner chest and lower patch pockets provide ample storage for your essentials, while the canvas inner lower pockets add a rugged contrast. Whether you're exploring the outdoors or layering up for cooler days, this fleece delivers timeless style and mountain-worthy performance.

The inspiration behind the Takin Fleece comes from the pioneering climbers of the 1970s, who often had to improvise with whatever clothing they could find to battle the unpredictable mountain weather. These adventurers didn’t have the luxury of high-tech gear; instead, they layered up with workwear and military surplus, creating a rugged, practical style that became iconic.
A warm fleece would have been the ideal piece to throw on at the base of a climb, offering comfort before the ascent. After a long day scaling rock faces, and gathering around the fire, a thick fleece would provide the perfect refuge from the cold mountain air.
