Introducing

The Outrider is cut from waxed cotton by British Millerain, established in 1880 and renowned for pioneering the development of waxed cotton.

We’ve dipped and distressed the cloth to give it the character of a coat that has already spent time out in the elements, then shaped it into a fitted mac with a clean, refined silhouette.

The collar and throat latch are backed in twelve-wale corduroy, so when the collar is turned up it feels comfortable against the neck. Adjustable cuff tabs, underarm vent eyelets and a back vent add function without interrupting the shape.

Finished with natural horn buttons, considered pocketing and a printed lining, every design detail has a practical application.

Waxed cotton was developed as a practical answer to wet weather. By treating tightly woven cotton with wax, the cloth gains water resistance while remaining breathable and flexible, with a surface that develops more character the more it is worn.

British Millerain has been at the centre of that story since the late 19th century. Established in 1880, the company pioneered the development of waxed cotton and remains one of the names most closely associated with the fabric today.

The Outrider draws on that heritage, using British Millerain cloth in a refined mac silhouette built for everyday weather.
