365 Days. 20 Pieces. One Year of Wearing His Story.
For 365 days, Olaus lived with just 20 pieces of &SONS clothing.
Not as a challenge for the sake of it, but as a way to understand what happens when you strip a wardrobe back to the pieces that truly earn their place.
Across the year, his &SONS capsule travelled with him through day-to-day life, coastal walks, holidays, meals out and moments of complete stillness. From the salt-sprayed cliffs of the southwest coastal path to the biting silence of Arctic Norway, these pieces became more than clothes. They became part of the story.
The One-Year Wearer Trial
The idea was simple. Could 20 pieces of gear carry one man through an entire year? Through changing seasons, different places, weather. Could this capsule wardrobe meet the demands of daily life?
For Olaus, the trial was not about restriction. It was about removing the noise. By consciously stripping away what he did not need, he found something of value. He found clarity.

Clothes That Live Every Mile
Over the year, Olaus' wardrobe became a record of his journey. The Black Gold Waxed Jacket carried the weight of the road. The Carver Jacket saw him through colder days, layered and worn hard. The Brandon Jeans became a foundation piece, a garment that gets better the longer you own it.
There were Boxer Pocket tees, a Breton Blue Stripe, the Off Black Sweatshirt, the Black Elder Henley and the Base Waffle Crew Neck. None of it sat untouched, none of it waited for a special occasion. Every piece had a regular part to play.
Less Choice. More Freedom.
One of the biggest lessons Olaus took from the year was that less choice can create more freedom. A crowded wardrobe can feel like abundance, but often it just creates decision fatigue and doubt. With 20 pieces, there was less to think about and more space to get on with the day. The trial challenged the idea that we need more to feel prepared, and Olaus found the opposite to be true. When every piece has purpose, getting dressed becomes simpler, not because the clothes matter less, but because they matter more.

Quality Is An Investment
Over the course of 365 days, Olaus came back to one clear belief. Quality had proved to be a good investment.
When a garment is made to last, it stays with you, and it changes and ages. It softens, fades, marks and moulds itself to the way you move. That is where the difference is revealed. Not in the first wear, but in the fiftieth. The hundredth. That moment you realise you are reaching for something every day, because it feels right, and because it has proved itself.
A good piece of clothing should not disappear after a season. It should earn its place year after year.
Worn-In, Not Worn-Out
There is a difference between worn-in and worn-out, and it that was another revelation of the year long trial. Worn-out is disposable, tired, forgotten, finished. Worn-in is earned. The sleeve marked by use, the denim shaped by movement, the jacket engrained with history
These marks are not flaws. They are proof. A piece that carries a story is worth more than a dozen destined for landfill.

The Legacy Remains
The wearer trial may have come to an end, but for Olaus the legacy will remain. These pieces are not being packed away or replaced. They will keep being worn, lived in and loved for years to come.
And here lies the point. The best clothes do not ask to be swapped out for something new. They stay with you, they adapt, and they collect the evidence of a life lived.
For Olaus, a year in 20 pieces is a reminder that a smaller wardrobe can carry a big life. From Cornish coast paths to cold northern landscapes, from daily rituals to holidays and meals out.
365 days. 20 pieces. One story still being written.
For Generations.
