ORIGINS

Unlike traditional knitting, which works across rows of live stitches, crochet is built loop by loop, creating fabric with structure, texture and space.

In the 19th century, it became both decorative and practical. By the 1970s, crochet and open-knit textures had found their way into expressive menswear. Vests, shirts, cardigans and summer knits carried the mood of the decade: relaxed, tactile, less formal and more individual.

The Santo draws from that lineage of open structure, crafted surface and expression. A black crochet-textured shirt made for warm-weather dressing, with the ease of a summer staple and the depth of a knitted piece.
