This Ombré Belted Cotton Chore Jacket is made with classic cotton and a belt to cinch the waist to give a more feminine silhouette. As a lightweight jacket, it’s made of 97% cotton 3% stretch 280gsm and features a practical chest pocket with a pencil holder and delicate, DAMSONS branded buttons. 

The two-tone ombré effect has been hand sprayed and the effect adds a stunning pop of colour to any outfit. The dyeing method produces a unique product so any variation in the colour and appearance should be celebrated and not be considered a defect.

ORIGINS

The kind of chore jackets we're used to today were first donned by labourers in France in the late 1800s and originally dubbed bleu de travail— “worker's blues”—for that attractive, irrefutably French shade of indigo.As its name would suggest, the chore coat was used for 'chores' like farming and labouring and worn by the working person. The coat's primary role is to keep workers warm and protect them when performing outdoor work, but now the structure of the jacket makes a fashionable statement.
