INTRODUCING

The Dempsey is a knitted polo created for warmer months. The textured cotton slub construction sits somewhere between a polo shirt and lightweight knit - structured enough to look considered, relaxed enough to wear anywhere.

The tipping stripe at the cuffs is a nod to the sporting heritage of the polo, a detail that originated in the tennis and golf clubs of the late 50s and worn well ever since. The 1x1 rib collar, cuffs and hem give shape without stiffness and Corozo buttons at the placket finish it cleanly.

Lightweight and breathable, the Dempsey will hold its form right through summer.

ORIGINS

The knitted polo has its roots in European sporting dress - specifically the open-collar tennis shirts of the 1920s, where ease of movement came before formality. The tipping stripe arrived later, through the golf and tennis clubs of mid-century Britain, where contrast trim became a mark of the sporting gentleman.
