ORIGINS

Heroes and Horses is a non-profit organisation addressing the pressing issue of veteran suicide and the challenges faced by military personnel transitioning back to civilian life, advocating for a new approach to veteran support.

The organisation's theory is rooted in the belief that while there are numerous veteran-related nonprofits and programs, the current system is fundamentally flawed. High unemployment rates and an over-reliance on psychiatric medications highlight the need for a more effective solution.

In response, Heroes and Horses present a whole-person solution through their unique program. Their mission is to "un-program the programmed," offering combat veterans an alternative to conventional treatments. This approach incorporates whole-food eating, mindset training, breathing techniques, meditation, remote wilderness experiences, and interaction with wild horses. The goal is to break the cycle of dependence on external solutions and empower veterans to find answers within themselves. We are helping to raise money to support and sponsor the first British veteran to take partin their program to help redefine their purpose and live a fulfilling life beyond their military service.
